US: Hawaii’s Kilauea Begins Episode 48 Eruption, Ashfall Advisories Issued

On Monday, June 1, Kilauea volcano on Hawaii's Big Island erupted in Episode 48 of an ongoing eruption, setting a record for the most fountaining episodes in a single eruption, according to the USGS. Ashfall advisories were issued for Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and surrounding communities, while a sulfur and ash cloud led to some flight cancellations.
